Kutaissi
Kutaissi is the third largest city in Georgia with about 150,000 inhabitants and lies on the river Rioni.
From the 10th century until 1122 Kutaissi was the residence of the Georgian kings.
The Bagrati Cathedral was built in 1003 by the Georgian King Bagrat III and blown up by the Turkish Sultan in 1696. Meanwhile it has been completely reconstructed.
